P&ID Extraction · No installation

Turn a week of manual transcription into an afternoon of review.

Every hour your team spends retyping valve tags, specs, and line numbers off a drawing is an hour they're not spending on the judgment only they can provide. Upload your P&IDs — piping and instrumentation drawings — and get a structured valve schedule, instrument list, and document metadata back, reviewed against the source drawing and ready to export. Equipment list extraction is coming soon.

No installation, nothing to configure: upload through your browser, get results back in the same session. Nothing to install on your machine, no IT ticket required.

// What you get

Three outputs from every drawing you upload

One plan — nothing sold separately.

Valve schedule

Tag, valve type, NPS, spec code, and line number — extracted and linked back to the source drawing.

Equipment list Coming soon

Equipment tags and identifying information, structured into one reviewable list.

Instrument list

Instrument tags and loop information, extracted and organized for downstream use.

Document metadata

Title block, drawing number, and revision — pulled straight from the sheet.

// Workflow

Where it fits in your day, and what it saves

Not a new system to learn — a step that replaces the slowest part of the ones you already run.

01

Upload

Drop in a P&ID as a PDF. CAD-native drawings give the most accurate results — scanned drawings can be visually read too, and heavily degraded or very old scans are supported by Legacy Archive Digitizer instead.

02

Extract

PID Intelligence reads the available valve, instrument, and metadata information from the drawing.

03

Review

See results in context of the source drawing, and spend your time on what's flagged — not retyping what isn't.

04

Export

Take the structured, reviewed data into whatever your team already uses downstream.

// The pain this solves

The hours this is meant to give back

This isn't about replacing engineering judgment — it's about not spending it on data entry.

Time

Give your engineers their hours back

Retyping valve tags, specs, and instrument lists by hand costs hours per drawing. Turn that into an upload instead.

Cost

Lower your cost per drawing set

Spend less on manual transcription. Put the budget toward the engineering work that actually needs an engineer.

Focus

Reallocate engineering hours

Move your team's time from data entry into review, judgment, and the decisions only they can make.

Speed

Drawing to decision, faster

Go from a drawing set to structured, reviewable data in a fraction of the time manual transcription takes.

// Sample output

What a valve schedule looks like coming out

Each row is one valve, linked back to where it was found on the drawing. Blank is better than a guess.

// Common questions

Questions about P&ID Extraction

Does this replace my engineers?

No. PID Intelligence extracts and structures the data that's on the drawing — it doesn't validate, certify, or replace engineering judgment. Every output is meant for engineering review before use.

What drawing formats work best?

PDFs with an intact annotation layer (typically exported directly from CAD) give the most accurate results. Scanned or flattened drawings can be visually read too, but results depend on scan quality and resolution — heavily degraded or very old scans are supported by Legacy Archive Digitizer instead.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Upload happens through your browser — nothing to install, nothing for IT to configure.

Can I validate the results against the drawing?

Yes — P&ID QC checks your results against the drawing itself. It's a separate cost on top of extraction, not something included automatically.

How is my drawing data handled?

See our Privacy Policy for full details on how your data is processed and retained.
